What happens when I place an order?
If you pay by Paypal, your payment is accepted right away. Should you choose to pay by credit card (not using Paypal), the payment for your order will be processed either the same day, or within 1-2 business days at the latest. Whichever type of payment method you choose, you will receive a merchant receipt by email either from Paypal (if paid via Paypal), or through our merchant processing center. We will contact you as soon as your order has been processed for payment; if not the same day, within 1-2 business days.
Do I have to buy a domain name?
If you already have a domain name, you will not need to buy another one. However, if you don't already have a domain name, then you will need to purchase/register one for your business, in order for us to setup an account for your DIY website on our server. We offer 1-year domain name registration packages for $15 and 2-year domain name registration packages for $25, with you being listed as the Owner/Registrant of the domain name, and we are listed in all other contact positions. There are no other fees associated with your domain name -- once we register it for you, we will take care of everything else that needs to be done so you won't have to worry about it.
What happens if I already own my domain name?
If you already have a domain name, we will either give you instructions to change the DNS and point your domain name to our server, or you are welcome to have us initiate a domain name transfer for you, for which there is a one-time $15 fee, which will also extend the term of your current domain name registration period for one additional year. As with our full-service domain name registration packages, if you order a domain name transfer, you will be listed as the Owner/Registrant of the domain name, and we will be listed in all other contact positions. *Please Note: If you do already have a domain name, it is not necessary for you to order a DNS transfer.*
I've never had a website before -- how do I know what I'm supposed to do?
We have an awesome HELP Section & Tutorial, coupled with incredible Technical Support. In addition, we also have a special 'CLIENT CORNER', where you'll find all sorts of helpful information.
What is the turn-around time for a website if I create it myself?
The turn-around time totally depends on you, since you are creating your website on your own. We find that most of our clients have their websites up and running anywhere from a few days or couple of weeks to a month, just depending on their own schedules and preparation time. We have often had clients up and running the same day as they setup their account, but there is really no way we can be exact, because each client has their own schedule and their own ideas for creating their website -- the best part of the DJdoodle DIY program is that you may go as quickly or as slowly as you like!!!!
What is the turn-around time if I have you setup my DIY website for me?
The turn-around time will vary depening on several factors. #1-Whether or not you chose a Partial Setup, a Complete Setup, or an Emergency Setup; and #2-How quickly you have your information ready. Depending upon the type of DIY setup you choose and depending upon how quickly you have your information ready and sent to us, it may be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Once you place your order and let us know when you will have your information ready to send to us, we will give you a time-frame for the completion of your DIY website.
If I have you do a Partial or Complete setup, how do I get my pictures and products information to you?
We prefer all information to be sent by email, and we'll provide you with specific instructions. However, if you have a large number of pictures, we may ask you to either upload them directly to your DIY account to save time, or if that's too much for you, then we'll have you send them by regular mail on a CDrom or a floppy disk.
If I have you do a Partial or Complete setup, what happens if I don't have my pictures and information ready for a few weeks?
No problem. All we ask is that you keep us posted on when you will have all your information ready. We're very good about sticking to our schedule, and will do our very best to have your website setup done as quickly as possible, but if we have to wait in excess of a month for your information, it will take time for us to work you back into our schedule again, once you are finally ready with all of your information. **Please Note: All Partial or Complete Setups MUST BE completed within sixty (60) days of purchase; exceptions to this policy are at our sole discretion.**
What if I don't have a merchant account to process credit card sales on my own?
No Problem!!! You do not need to have a merchant account to start your website. Although it may make a difference in your sales, merchant accounts can be very costly, and if you don't have the money in your budget in the beginning, you may wish to do so at a later time. We recommend having at least one payment method which can be accepted for online ordering, so if you don't have your own merchant account, we suggest PAYPAL, an online payment method which will allow you to offer customers a way to use their credit cards to make their purchases, without your having a merchant account.
What happens if I use all the pages and/or pictures and need more?
The DJdoodle DIY accounts include up to 500MB of space on our Server. That is such a large amount of space that we seriously doubt you would run out of room ... However, if you have literally thousands of products and somehow run tight on space, it will be no problem to upgrade if you need it.
How do I get things changed on my website?
That's one of the best things about the DJdoodle DIY program ... You can change any-thing at any-time, whenever you like and as often as you like, with access to your account 24/7/365, there's no limit on what you can do since you're doing it all on your own!
What about monthly fees?
Your fees are due and payable once you sign-up for a DJdoodle DIY Website Builder account, and the fees continue from that point on, until such time as your account is closed. Please note that your account may not be put on hold for any reason, and whether or not you have completed your website doesn't affect the billing, which is due and payable every month. As long as you have an open account, have access to our DIY program and are taking up space on our Server, you are responsible for prompt payment of your account. We require all clients to be current with monthly fees, and we require all clients to have a valid credit card on file with us, unless they have chosen to subscribe to our Paypal payment subscription plan.
What happens if I change my mind and decide I no longer wish to continue my DJdoodle*#153; DIY account?
We would be very unhappy to hear that you that you wanted to close your account, but please note that we do not offer Refunds of any kind on any of our services, packages and/or products. All Services are Non-Refundable. If you are going to close your account, it is your responsibility to email us and obtain email confirmation that we have received your message, and it is also your responsibility to cancel your Paypal subscription, if you have one. Once we receive notification from you that you wish to close your account, we will confirm by email, and your account will be closed in 1-2 business days and your domain name information will be forwarded to you by email.
What about graphics, you ask?
If you have your own graphics, that is wonderful. If they are specially designed for a DIY website, they will most likely work very well, but even if they were not, we have flexibility for graphics in our DIY template and will more than likely be able to make them work for your DIY website. If you don't have graphics, we do have a few charming country/prim web sets in the DIY free library, but we would recommend purchasing graphics, which will give your DIY website much more of a personalized, custom feel and will also insure that no one else's website looks like yours. If you're looking for a place to start, we recommend a visit to our Online Graphics Catalog. All of the graphic artists listed on this website are familiar with the DJdoodle DIY template and know the sizing requirements, etc. However, should you find graphics elsewhere, we will be more than happy to provide the specs for your graphic artist to customize your graphics for use on our DIY template :)
What about privacy and protecting my email address?
How long should I expect it to take before I have a lot of visitors
to my site?
A website business is just like any other business in that it takes time and consistent effort to make something of it. If you just put your website up and do nothing, we're sorry to say it, but you won't receive many visitors, or most likely many orders either.... If no one knows your website is there, then how would they even find you to visit it? The only way that people will know about your website is through search engines, links, word of mouth, craft shows, or marketing and advertising both online and off. If you have your website submitted to search engines consistently, it generally takes a good 3 months before you will begin to see results and 3-6 months before your site will be picked up by a good number of search engines. Of course, if you are advertising your website business in newspapers, magazines, etc., that will surely bring visitors to your site more quickly and in higher concentration as well. In addition to offline marketing and advertising, we also recommend online marketing as well, such as increasing Links on your website and joining Online Craft Malls and Online Craft Marketplaces which are well-established and well-advertised, such as the DJdoodle Online Marketplaces, so your membership will help you take advantage of all the advertising done by the Marketplace as well.
